VTL: BOX

Throw punches and combos to challenge your endurance, build strength with intentionally designed movements and condition your core. Work your way through three stations twice in 50 minutes and finish with purposeful recovery. Wraps and gloves required. Please arrive 5 minutes early.

VTL: ROW

Drive power on the row machine to challenge your endurance and build strength with intentionally designed movements and condition your core. Work your way through three stations twice in 50 minutes and finish with purposeful recovery to have you walk out of this session feeling better than when you walked in.

VTL: FIT

Expect a high-energy, effective, and challenging full-body workout led by a motivating trainer in a small group setting. Each 50-minute session is split into two working blocks made up of 6 stations of cardio, strength, core, and recovery. Experience the perfect blend of heart-pounding cardio and muscle-building strength training with our community of members while having fun!

What should I expect in a VTL Training® session?

VTL Training is small group training reimagined. Led by trainers who push you to be your best, you can expect a full body strength and cardio workout in just 50 minutes. In-Shape Fitness offers three VTL Training formats: VTL: BOX, VTL: ROW and VTL: FIT.

What is the difference between VTL: BOX, VTL: ROW, and VTL: FIT?

All three of our small group training formats are a fun and motivating way to challenge and increase your strength and cardio fitness. In VTL: BOX, boxing is used as the cardio conditioning portion of the session while in VTL: ROW, stationary water rowing is the cardio component. Both VTL: BOX and VTL: ROW are in a separate studio while VTL: FIT is on the turf. VTL: FIT uses a combination of different movements, depending on the workout of the day focus, to build your cardio and muscular endurance. With an unbeatable program that’s designed to challenge and strengthen your whole body each week, your daily VTL Training session removes the guesswork and replaces it with knowledgeable, motivating Trainers.

Where is VTL Training® available?

VTL Training is available at the following In-Shape Fitness locations:

  • VTL: BOX - Bakersfield Riverlakes, Bakersfield Seven Oaks, Bakersfield California, Bakersfield White Lane, Concord, Napa and Victorville.
  • VTL: ROW - Bakersfield Riverlakes, Bakersfield Seven Oaks, Bakersfield California, Bakersfield White Lane, Concord, Napa and Victorville.
  • VTL: FIT - Antioch, Arden, Bakersfield California Avenue, Bakersfield Coffee Road, Bakersfield Riverlakes, Bakersfield Seven Oaks, Bakersfield White Lane, Carmichael, Ceres, Citrus Heights, Concord, Elk Grove, Folsom, Laguna, Manteca, Merced, Midtown, Modesto Floyd, Napa, Natomas, Orangevale, Palmdale East, Pocket, Rocklin, Roseville, Stockton March Lane, Suisun City, Sunrise, Tracy, Vacaville Browns Valley, Vallejo, Victorville, Visalia Mooney and Watt.

Who can take VTL Training®?

VTL Training is currently included with the Elevate Package. Members can also add VTL Training to their existing membership for an additional $20 per month.

Active members with memberships that do not include VTL Training are issued two Access Passes. This is available to active members in a market where VTL is offered. The pass offers 2 sessions to try with 60 days expiration from the date of issue.

I don’t have access to VTL Training® currently, but I want access! How soon after I change my membership will it take for me to reserve a session?

Membership changes at the club can take up to an hour to fully process. Online membership changes can take up to three days to fully process. If you would like to make a membership change for VTL Training access, please contact Member Services or speak with a team member at the Welcome Desk.

I received a VTL Training® trial. How do I redeem my sessions?

If you received a VTL Training trial, you will be able to book 2 sessions through the In-Shape Fitness app or Member Hub. Free VTL Training access passes expire 60 days from the date of issue.

I redeemed my trial session and loved VTL Training®. How do I gain access to VTL moving forward?

VTL Training is currently included with the Elevate Package. Members can also add VTL Training to their existing membership for an additional $20 per month. To upgrade, contact the Welcome Desk, Member Services or visit the Access + Perks > Clubs + Programs section of the mobile app.

I didn’t receive a free trial session, but I want to train! When can I try VTL Training®?

All active In-Shape Fitness members over the age of 18 at clubs that offer VTL Training will receive a free trial. Please speak with a team member at the Welcome Desk for further assistance.

BEFORE YOU TRAIN

How much time will it take for me to check in and set up for class?

For all three training formats, be sure to arrive 5 minutes before the session starts. If it’s your first session, the trainer will be available to meet you and walk you through training set-up.

What should I wear to train?

For all VTL Training sessions, bring a water bottle, towel, proper training or running shoes, and wear comfortable clothing that doesn’t hold you back from your best training session yet.

For VTL: BOX, wraps and gloves are required for safety. You can bring your own wraps or purchase at In-Shape Fitness. Boxing gloves are provided in the studio and available for you to use.

RESERVE YOUR SPOT

How do I make a reservation?

Reservations are required and you can make your reservation in the In-Shape Fitness app before your training session starts. Click here for instructions on how to make a VTL Training reservation in the app.

Can I cancel my reservation if I can’t make the class?

Members who cannot attend their training session are expected to cancel their reservation at least 2 hours prior to the session start time.

What if I’m late to my training session?

Be sure to arrive within the first 5 minutes of your session’s start time. Members who arrive later than the 5-minute grace period will be marked as no-show and may incur a no-show fee.

VTL: ROW TIPS

*Members are issued two (2) free access passes to try VTL Training at any of the In-Shape Fitness clubs offering VTL Training. Passes expire 60 days after issued. The pass grants access to try VTL: BOX, VTL: ROW, and/or VTL: FIT training sessions. Not valid for members under the age of 18. For new members, passes expire 60 days from date of join. Reservations are required. A $2 no-show fee will be applied if reservations are not canceled 2 hours prior.
